If you really want to know how you compare to the average penis size, it is important to know how to measure your penis properly. Most reputable studies agree that the average penis size is somewhere between 6 and 6.5 inches. The difficulty with comparing your own manhood to that range is that because there are so many different ways to measure your penis, using an incorrect method can give you distorted results.

Men go about measuring their penises in all sorts of crazy ways. Some jam the ruler into their pubic bone to the extent of drawing blood to try to gain an extra half-inch. The true, honest way to measure your penis is to achieve a full erection, stand up, align your penis parallel to the floor, and lay the ruler flat across the top. Do NOT press it into the fat pad covering your pubic bone. Read the measurement at the tip and that is your true size.
